I have never done any tabletop RPG, let alone DnD in my life and am very curious about what the dynamics and how-to's of the game consist of in general. I also understand that even though I am dabbled in a community of liberal-minded folk, this culture still has it's sexist jabs to be thrown here and there as well as a lack of gender balance in the RPG community which has created some bad messages. If I can be a part of diminishing the awful stigma in this culture and create a character that can be recognized as part of the game and not as something to be objectified, I would be super stoked to do it while I kick some ass in whatever the story has to offer.
What experience do you have in the world of "fantasy gaming/rpgs" including video games, fantasy books, board games, card games, or anything of that flavor?
My brother's World of Warcraft account that he let me use when I was thirteen comes closest to relevant in the RPG category. I also am a penchant for mythology, demonology, and thoroughly enjoy medieval history from around the world and the old school concept of fantasy.

Well the sky is the limit, I can't wait to see what we can all do together using our individual imaginations. I would love to have a character that can be part of the game as a female(not sure what race I want yet) with rogue capabilities, which absolutely does not hone the sexy "hot elf" character image that is the typical sexist gesture in RPG culture.
What are you expecting out of the game?
I imagine I'll learn new things and develop a fun story among all other players involved.

All the above!
How do you feel about acting out your character as a different person than yourself?
Very well. It's nice to step outside of yourself once in a while.
What do you think your strengths and weaknesses may be in the beginning, based on what you know about Dungeons and Dragons?
I would bet that my weakness to begin with will be the general rules and regulations in conducting a game. I know that the dynamics vary widely and that there is no right way to do it, but there are some other mechanics to it that I'm sure I don't yet know about. Which is yet to change, surely. My strength may be my hand in creating a fantastical story offering my knowledge of fantastical things and beings I've gathered over time. Or it will also be one of my weaknesses because I'm not as creative as I'd like to think.

Jack is a blue haired theater kid who specializes in being a man dressed as a woman. She's done everything in performance from playing the tuba to dancing en pointe. She is an expert in stupid things like colonial nautical fashion and FFXII, and her belches rattle windows and hearts.

Well, it's certainly fun and interesting. It's a good mental exercise as well. The best kind of fun makes you think
What experience do you have in the world of "fantasy gaming/rpgs" including video games, fantasy books, board games, card games, or anything of that flavor?
I play video games all the time. It's by far my favorite storytelling medium. Fable, Elder Scrolls, and Final Fantasy are ones that keep my attention. I read/write mostly fantasy type stuff, so listing them off would be ridiculous. I've tried to play Magic, but I think I just haven't played with the right people yet. Mostly it's frustrating. As far as board games go, I had a Harry Potter trivia game once that I was good at.

This is the fourth character I've created in a relatively short amount of time. I'm looking for more variety, I guess. I haven't done a straight spell caster, ever. Should be stimulating. While playing in other games, I usually have input into the combat parts, but as far as the rest of it, my characters are usually smashy and don't care much about what happens to loot and stuff. It'll be challenging to be more of the brains for the party as opposed to the muscle like usual.
What are you expecting out of the game?
I have no idea, really. I'm expecting to learn more about what is effective in this particular character archetype. I'm hoping I take to it.

I like to kill things, so the first option is probably the most apt. I tend to remember the combats more than the story, though the stories are good. It may just be that I have played more combat efficient characters so the fighting has stuck out more than the role playing.
How do you feel about acting out your character as a different person than yourself?
I feel a little silly, which is so dumb considering my theater background. Part of it is being put on the spot, and having to improvise what my character might say while still getting to the point I'm trying to make. With varying intelligence between the different characters I've done, sometimes I find myself being smarter than I should, or saying something that is not technically allowed by my character's alignment. I think the priority should be the correct thing that character would do, over the accent or voice used to portray the character. The bard I played was probably the easiest to play character wise because she was closer to my natural state than any of the others.
What do you think your strengths and weaknesses may be in the beginning, based on what you know about Dungeons and Dragons?
Strengths will probably be strategy in combat. It might take a day for me to get used to a new character and system, but that's usually where I do the best. Weaknesses are usually when I'm trying to get specific information or otherwise interacting with non players.

Why are you interested in learning to play, or becoming more familiar
to play, a tabletop RPG like Dungeons and Dragons?
Well,
it seems like there are some elements of the writer and performer in
me. I use to do a different kind of roleplaying online. It was a
blast and a half.
2.
What experience do you have in the world of "fantasy rpg gaming"
including video games, fantasy books, board games, card games, or
anything of that flavor?
When
I was in elementary school I was in a roleplay forum for one of my
favorite book series. I started to play in a Firefly game that fell
apart.

Probably
definitely Xena style amazon, fighting with a staff if that is an
option. Fucking sexy bitch.
4.
What are you expecting out of the game?
Pick
up a new hobby. Hang out with people I don't get to see as often as I
would like. Have another way of telling stories.

7.
What do you think your strengths and weaknesses may be in the

I definely

will take me a while to catch on.
